Medical Clinic

Our Services

Our clinic accepts “walk-in” patients and family practice services ONLY BY AN APPOINTMENT.

We do offer either in-person or phone/virtual appointments. We can provide virtual calls with a doctor from home or work without being in a crowded clinic.

We provide the 24-hour Holter/ECG tests to patients who have the requisition from a doctor.

You can make a pap test appointment online or by phone, and one of our doctors will help you with the test.

If you got a car accident, you need to report the accident to ICBC to receive a claim number. Then, contact us to make an appointment with your ICBC claim number.

The Well Medical Clinic has been proudly serving the community since 2010.

Medical Service FAQ

1. Do you accept new patients?

Yes. However, some of our doctors are able to see “walk-in” patients by appointment only. Currently, we are not accepting patients for family doctor designation.

2. How can I make an appointment?

You can make an appointment online through our website www.thewellmedical.com, or call us at 604-937-2520. You must enter your valid information (full name, date of birth, address, PHN, etc.) when you register for online booking. Please call us should you experience any difficulties when registering online.

3. I missed the Doctor’s phone call. What should I do now?

If you have missed your call from the doctor, send us an email at info.thewellmedical@gmail.com or call 604-937-2520 to request a callback. Please include your full name and date of birth in your email for an efficient process. Please be aware that some patient visits may take longer than others, and your telehealth appointment may not begin at the exact time of your booking.

4. How do I get a prescription?

You can book an appointment with a doctor to assess your condition. You will have a choice of receiving the prescription via email or in person, we can also directly send it to the pharmacy of your choice.

5. Can I book a 24-hour Holter/ECG?

We provide the 24-hour Holter/ECG tests to patients who have the requisition from a doctor. Please consult with our receptionist when you receive one.

6. Can I make appointments for Pap Tests?

Yes. You can make a pap test appointment online or by phone, and one of our doctors will help you with the test. They will take a sample of cells from the cervix with a small brush, and send the sample to the lab. A Pap test takes only a few minutes to perform.

7. I got into a car accident. What should I do?

You need to report the accident to ICBC to receive a claim number. Then, contact us to make an appointment with your ICBC claim number.

If you are in pain and wish to receive treatments from a chiropractor, acupuncturist or massage therapist at the clinic, please provide us with your ICBC claim number. We will contact ICBC for treatment coverage.

For any other information regarding ICBC, please visit https://www.icbc.com.

8. What if I live in another province/country (International Traveler)?

If you visit BC for less than three months, you can use your provincial health card, except for Quebec residents. We accept patients who are from overseas or who do not have medical coverage in Canada; however, there will be a charge for patients without valid Canadian medical coverage. Please contact our office for a private office visit fee.

9. What services are not covered by MSP?

MSP does NOT cover fees for any forms, including sick notes, and Driver’s Medical Exam forms. Please call us if you have any questions regarding what is not covered by MSP and BCMA recommended fee guidelines.

10. What if I do not have valid medical coverage on the day of the visit?

If your Care Card is not valid on the day of the visit, there will be a charge for the appointment. We urge you to contact MSP to resolve the issue.

11. Will you call me with my test results? Can my family member visit the clinic for my results?

You will receive a call from us to make a follow-up appointment for the test results if the doctor needs to see you for a follow-up visit. We do not give tests or lab results via phone or to people other than the patient.

Since lab results are kept strictly confidential, you must book an appointment with your designated physician to get your lab results or any other chart-related information.

If you do not receive a follow-up call but want to know about your test results, please call us or book online for your test results or other chart-related information.

12. How do I get a copy of my medical records?

You can obtain a copy of your medical records at our clinic through in-person appointments with our doctors. There will be a separate fee for a copy of medical records since they are not covered by MSP, the charge will be according to the BCMA recommended fee guidelines.

13. How are referrals (specialist appointments) processed?

Our doctors will process a specialist referral after the appointment. Then, either our clinic or the specialists’ office will contact you with an appointment time. We send all referrals to the specialists within 48 hours of your visit.

However, due to long waitlists at the specialists’ offices, you may need to wait several months to get an appointment with the specialists.

Policy

Appointment cancellations and No-Shows

Please call us 24 hours in advance to cancel an appointment so that we have the opportunity to book other patients. Our phone hours are from 9 AM to 4 PM.

If an appointment is cancelled on the same day up to three times or a patient does not show up, there will be a $60 missed appointment fee. However, we may waive the fee in case of an emergency.

Transfer of Medical Records

Please note that there is a charge when you request to have your medical records transferred, and the fees are due upon receiving a transfer request form. We follow the BCMA Non-MSP fee schedule for medical record fees.
