What is Chiropractic?
The Well Chiropractic Clinic provides evidence-based chiropractic treatments. The treatments that we provide are firmly grounded in science and clinical research.
We follow protocols and guidelines set by Canadian and British Columbian chiropractic regulatory bodies. Chiropractic is a health care profession concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disorders of the musculoskeletal system.
Chiropractors focus on the assessment of joints, muscles, and tendons.
Chiropractors, like other medical physicians, take thorough histories, and perform orthopaedic testing before differentially diagnosing, estimating prognosis for full recovery, and formulating comprehensive management plans.
Educating and recommending specific therapeutic exercise and lifestyle guidance for your benefit is of particular interest to us.
Effects of Chiropractic Manipulation
The main treatment method in chiropractic care is called “Chiropractic/Spinal manipulation/adjustment.” It is a technique where the doctor of chiropractic uses their hands to apply a controlled thrust to a joint of your spine.
The common goal of the manipulation is to restore and to enhance joint function, with the general goals of resolving joint inflammation and reducing pain. At the Well Chiropractic clinic, we also employ adjunctive therapy, such as ice or heat or physical therapy modalities (such as electric muscle stimulation) as part of an overall treatment plan.
Patients should discuss their symptoms and preferences with our chiropractor, whose role is to perform a thorough examination to determine the best course of treatment.
