- What is PAP smear exam/test and when should I do my Pap test?
- Pap smear test is a screening test for cervical cancer. BC Cancer Agency recommends that the screening exam should begin at age 21 or approximately 3 years after first sexual contact, whichever occurs first. Women who have never had any sexual contacts do not need to be screened.
It is recommended that patients have the PAP exam in their mid-cycle, preferably day 14 of your menstrual cycle. You need to book an appointment to do PAP test and female doctors are working at theWell Medical Clinic. If you wish, you can request to book an appointment with a female doctor for the PAP test.
- What is screening mammogram?
- The doctor will also perform a breast exam during your PAP exam visit. If you are eligible, you will be given an information sheet on screening mammography program provided by BC Cancer Agency.
